03 January, 2018 Speedway World Championship finals for the first time in Astana
Automotosport Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced the holding of the 1st final of the personal World Speedway Championship 2018 in Astana on “Alau” Ice Palace, informs Elorda.info with reference to the press service of the federation.
Capital of Kazakhstan will hold prestigious and spectacular competitions of "ice gladiators" for the first time. But it’s not the first experience for our country.
Legendary ice rink “Medeu” hosted competition under the auspices of International Motorcycling Federation FIM for the last 3 years.
A special spectacle of the competitions in Astana is that the race will be held on the ice of the closed stadium “Alau”.
Special commission of FIM already inspected arena and all infrastructures for the final.
Track commission Director of federation noted that level of preparations for competitions complies with the regulations of FIM, and representatives of federation now are satisfied with the work of the Kazakhstan organizers.
“Astana for the first time holding our competitions, - he noted. – However we know that capital of Kazakhstan lately has a lot of experience in hosting of big International events, also sport events. Automotorsport Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan held three successful finals of our competitions at the ice rink “Medeu” in Almaty, and we are sure that the race in Astana will also be held at the high level. Today we were convinced that the preparation for the competitions in Astana is going in the right direction. The stadium meets all the necessary requirements.”
Kazakh organizers of competitions expect a great interest of spectators to the competitions of ice gladiators in Astana.
“We are expecting, that the race of world best riders of speedway in Astana will be interesting for visitors, - said Marat Abykaev, President of Automotorsport Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. – We are proud about the fact that Astana will host prestigious competitions in the year of its twentieth birthday.
